What Recipients See
Beneficiary View
Beneficiaries log in to a simplified portal:
- List of shared documents
- Search and filter
- Document preview
- Download (if enabled)
Guest View
Guests see a minimal, focused interface:
- Shared documents only
- No account creation needed
- Clean, simple design
Best Practices
- Use beneficiaries for family - Permanent access for trusted family members
- Use guests for professionals - Time-limited access for advisors
- Share smart folders - Automatically include new matching documents
- Review access quarterly - Remove access that's no longer needed
- Use separate channels for codes - Don't email emergency codes
- Enable download carefully - Consider if downloads are necessary
Security Considerations
All external access includes:
- Encryption - Documents encrypted in transit and at rest
- Audit logging - All access is recorded
- Session management - Automatic logout after inactivity
- IP logging - Track where access comes from
