Connecting Email
Connect your email to automatically capture investment documents as they arrive.
Why Connect Email?
Email integration is one of oklido's most powerful features:
- Automatic capture - Documents are saved as they arrive
- No manual uploads - Attachments are extracted automatically
- Full history - Sync past emails to capture older documents
- Organised inbox - Documents go to oklido, emails stay in your inbox
Supported Email Providers

Connecting Gmail
- Go to Settings → Email Sources
- Click "Connect Gmail"
- Sign in to your Google account
- Review and accept the permissions
- You're connected!
Connecting Outlook
- Go to Settings → Email Sources
- Click "Connect Outlook"
- Sign in to your Microsoft account
- Review and accept the permissions
- You're connected!
Email Sync Options
After connecting, configure your sync preferences:
Filter by Sender
Only capture emails from specific senders (recommended):
example: *@investmentfirm.com, reports@bank.com
Filter by Label/Folder
Gmail: Capture emails with specific labels Outlook: Capture emails from specific folders
Attachments Only
Enable to only process emails that have attachments.
Sync History
Choose how far back to sync:
- Free: Last 30 days
- Pro: Last 1 year
- Family/Trust: Unlimited history
What Happens to Emails?
oklido reads your emails to extract documents, but:
- Emails stay in your inbox (we don't delete them)
- Only attachments are saved to oklido
- Email content is processed but not stored
- You can disconnect at any time
Security
Your email connection is secure:
- OAuth 2.0 authentication (we never see your password)
- Encrypted data transmission
- EU data residency (London region)
- SOC 2 compliant infrastructure
Troubleshooting
Emails Not Syncing?
- Check your email connection in Settings
- Verify filters aren't too restrictive
- Wait 15-30 minutes for the initial sync
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting
Missing Attachments?
- Only supported file types are extracted (PDF, DOC, XLS, etc.)
- Very large attachments (>100MB) may not sync on Free plan
- Encrypted attachments cannot be processed
